Unboxing My Latest Godzilla Figure

Recently, I received a new Shin Godzilla figure that I had pre-ordered a few months ago. Upon opening it, I was so happy and excited by its awesomeness that the experience inspired me to write this article.

Since the age of a child I’ve always been a fan of Godzilla. Now, I’m a huge fan and collector of Godzilla figurines. I have a variety of X Plus, S.H. MonsterArts, Marmit, and Bandai figures. I recently purchased the Omega Beast Shin Godzilla (Awakening Version). It’s the highlight in my Godzilla collection.

The Omega Beast Shin Godzilla

The Omega Beast Shin Godzilla (Awakening Version) figure is truly a work of art and an incredibly sculptured work. The quality of the details and paint are unbeatable. Shin’s wrinkled physique shimmers with brilliant color. The pose of the savage and sharp teeth are beautiful and terrifying.

The size is incredible The figure is incredible. It’s a must for any Godzilla fan. I believe this is the best Shin Godzilla figure produced to date. It’s blowing the X-plus massive series of Shin Godzilla out of the water. This artwork truly captures the fury and pain of the creature.

What Is Shin Godzilla?

Shin Godzilla is believed as an evolved prehistoric aquatic super-organism. Changed by nuclear waste thrown into the ocean by humans. In Japanese folklore, he’s believed to be God Christ-like.

Is it Godzilla? Yes, it’s just a different iteration of Godzilla. Just like the previous versions of Godzilla The one that is this one is extremely radioactive. It explodes and vibrates with radioactivity. The creature’s skin gets saggy and folds on top of the other. It glows with radioactive reds and purples. The mouth was split and distorted through evolution.

The mouth evolved this way to compensate for the atomic breath as a defense mechanism when attacked, its entire body pumping with radioactive lava boiling hot–even Shin’s tiny hands and arms are filled with radioactive blood. Shin truly is the most horrifying of Godzilla’s.

The film titled Shin Gojira was made available on the 25th of July 2016, in Tokyo. According to the makers that they picked the title due to its variety of meanings. The Japanese language, using different kanji characters that create”shin” as symbols “shin” could be a way to convey a meaning to “true” or “god.”

The act of collecting Godzilla figures can be a lot fun, addictive, and very expensive. If you’re like me, you’ll want all the Godzilla figures you can lay your hands on. If you don’t have endless amounts of money and space, you’ll need to pick out the most impressive figures.

So how do you know what figures to buy? Which ones are worth your hard-earned money for? With so many brands and figures to pick from, it’s going to be difficult to decide when buying Godzilla figures.

If the figure is done right and is sculpted and painted properly it becomes more collectible. From my experience, nearly every Godzilla figures increases in value once it is sold out , unless it’s a knockoff. It is not unusual to find figures that double or triple in price.

My Favorite Godzilla Figure Lines

Here are a few Godzilla figure lines and manufacturers to look into if you’re looking to start your collection.

SHONEN-RIC/X-PLUS

My personal favorite Godzilla figures are made by SHONEN-RIC/XPLUS. They never lack details and are generally movie suit authentic. That is, they are exactly like the costume in the film up to the seams.

The XPLUS figures are stunningly detailed, sculpted, and painted. They typically range in price between $89 for small figures to several thousand for big figures, depending of “when” as well as “where” they are purchased. When purchasing XPLUS Godzilla figures, it is important to hurry and make your pre-orders. Figures tend to sell out quickly, and once they do get sold out, they’re difficult to find for a reasonable cost.

As with the massive series of X-PLUS the figures can have been pre-ordered at a price of $400-$1200. In the future, you’ll get them for thousands of dollars on eBay. Fantastic figures such as the X-PLUS enormous collection Shin Godzilla are selling on eBay for upwards of $2,500!

The Omega Beast Series by EZHobi

The Omega Beast Series by EZHobi are some of the most stunning figures ever created. They have been renowned for using specific paints and translucent materials to create a distinctive style that can only be found in the Omega Beast Series. These figures are very rare large and costly.

If you’re able to find one, I would highly suggest purchasing it. You can expect to pay approximately $1,300 for one these figures. They also tend to go up in price So, be sure to pre-order yours as soon as you can. If you do not, getting one will be extremely difficult and expensive.

S.H. MonsterArts

S.H. MonsterArts figures are some of the best figures on the market today and are highly sought-after by collectors. The figures feature many points of articulation which allow for a vast range of movement and possibilities.

The details, paint jobs and sculpts tend to be excellent when purchasing S.H. MonsterArts figures. Pre-order prices usually range from $60 to $150, depending on the retailer you purchase them from. But once they’re sold out and are on eBay, prices could jump into the $400-$500 range.

Bandai American and Bandai Spirits

Bandai’s Godzilla collectibles are among the best figures money can purchase. They’re surprisingly affordable and are the perfect choice for novice collectors to get started collecting. Prices vary from around 10 dollars on the low end all the way up to a few hundred dollars on the high end. However, there are plenty of fantastic figures within the lower price bracket.

Playmate and MonsterVerse Figures

The MonsterVerse contains films starring Godzilla as well as King Kong produced by Legendary Entertainment and co-produced by WB.

MonsterVerse characters are manufactured by many companies, including Walmart. Walmart is the only retailer to offer its own collection made up of Godzilla MonsterVerse figures by Playmates. Surprisingly enough, their models are much better than what you would expect and are worth picking up. The prices at Walmart range from $10 to $30. If they do sell out you will be charged more.

Godzilla and Friends

The Godzilla universe consists of all types of monsters, from small and big to tall and hairy. Some are close to Godzilla and others are enemies however all of them have huge personalities.

Certain monsters, such as Baragon are small adorable, cute, and harmless and others, such as Biollante are massive and powerful. There are also mechanical monsters, like Mecha-King Ghidorah or Mechagodzilla. The world of Godzilla is an exciting one.
