Support for law tutoring on the GDL, BPTC or an LLB is essential for all students. Law tutoring can come in different forms such as sharing notes and studying with your classmates. In some instances, hiring a law tutor to provide you one-on-one advice, guidance and support as well as feedback could be very helpful. In this blog post I go over the different ways law tutoring can assist you.

How do I locate a TEACHER?

If you’re studying in the UK, you can find lawyers through the MyTutoring Agency. They provide a range of law-related tutoring, and offer in-person and online sessions.

Why should you invest in LAW Do you want to be a teacher?

Investing in law tutoring can be beneficial for several reasons. One of the primary benefits is that it provides you an independent, confidential helpline away from your Law school tutors and colleagues and usually is a much less stressful environment to learn in. It is a comfort to have someone there to support you in reaching your goals can be very and comforting, especially in the event that Law School gets very tough.

Law tutoring in contrast to lectures

Using a law tutoring is not a reason to think that you should not engage with your regular course work or content. Tutors are not generally to be considered as a replacement for college or university tutors and professors. They are there as a guide and sources of responsibility. However, it is your responsibility to remain organised and on top of the content of your courses. Without this your law tutor is likely to have difficulty tutoring you , as you’ll find it harder to progress and increase your knowledge.

What are the advantages of using the services of a tutor?

The most common reasons why students on the GDL, BPTC or LLB require tutoring on their own are:

They want to have extra assistance on a particular subject;
They need help to design their study schedule for the year or examination season;
It has given feedback regarding some works and are keen to gain a better understanding of how they can apply it.
They possess specific skills that they want to gain and learn such as reading and annotating cases as well as drafting a court note;
They need legal essay writing assistance and feedback;
They need study materials that are specific to a particular subject (flashcards and mindmaps).

What do you expect to get from Law Tutoring?

Whatever your reason for wanting tutoring, it is important to take into consideration how tutoring can fit into your objectives. Law tutoring is only useful when you know what it is you want to get out from it. There are many things to think about. First ask yourself, what are your strengths? What are the areas where you’re achieving your goals and feel confident? This can be a difficult question to answer when you’re at the beginning of your course. It is my suggestion to take your time until you are settled into a course and have had the chance to get involved with the material before mapping out how tutoring works for you.

How do I know how much law Tutoring should I pay?

Some individuals only require some law-related tutoring that is spread over regular times during the academic year or term. Some people need more intense law tutoring, especially around exams. With your law tutor, you will be able to determine what is well for you. One thing to keep in mind is that the goal of law tutoring is not to need it. It is not possible to take your tutor to your test and they won’t submit your papers for you. The tutoring program should make you feel more comfortable when working by yourself.
