I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! winner Sam Thompson has revealed his hopes for pal Pete Wicks if he is kicked off Strictly Come Dancing
Sam Thompson says his best friend Pete Wicks will have the perfect consolation prize if he gets kicked off Strictly Come Dancing in the next few weeks – by flying over to Australia to join him.
Last year’s King of the jungle Sam is co-hosting the new ITV2 spin off show with comedian Joel Dommett and radio presenter Kemi Rodgers.
Asked who he would miss most out of his girlfriend Zara McDermott or Pete, Sam, 32, paused for thought and replied: “Probably Zara because Pete is so stressed with Strictly! I’ve never seen a man so stressed with his dancing because he’s having to learn a whole new skill. I’ve got to say my girlfriend, I don’t want to get in trouble!
“Pete did say if he gets booted out of Strictly he might come out and see me! We’ll get to have another bridge reunion.”
Pete is currently doing well on Strictly dancing with Jowita Przystał and they had an emotional performance dedicated to his nan at the weekend. However, Pete is reported to be dating Maura Higgins who is set to go into the jungle this year, giving the former Towie star two reasons to go to Australia if he is no longer in Strictly next month.
Sam also offered his advice to this year’s campmates, saying they had little to worry about and would enjoy the experience. He said: “Don’t worry about the sleep! You will sleep, it’s the best goddam sleep you’ll ever have, when you get into the routine, it’s the most unbelievable sleep. Treat dinner as family time because it’s so lovely, that’s when you get to know everyone the best.”
He added: “I wouldn’t want to change anything. It went exactly how it was meant to go. I just loved being in there, it felt like a school trip actually, like when you go to Harry Potter World! I wouldn’t change anything because it all happened to formulate the most amazing experience I will never forget.”
