Social media star GK Barry has opened up about the buzz surrounding her potential stint on the much-anticipated series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! The Sun recently sparked speculation that Barry is set to join the jungle crew in the ITV show’s 2024 series, kicking off on November 17, although ITV has not yet confirmed the cast.
Addressing the swirling rumours about her joining the reality TV challenge, Barry confessed to The Mirror that the jungle “looks like absolute hell”.
“I hate bugs. I hate sleeping outside,” she admitted. “I’ve never done it. And so I think that would be a lot. But I feel like it would also probably be good viewing for other people.”

Earlier this year, it was rumoured that the influencer and podcast host was in negotiations with the ITV programme. Following an appearance on Loose Women, The Sun reported that she had declined an offer from Strictly and was instead considering I’m a Celeb.
“Producers think she has great energy and is highly entertaining,” a source divulged to the newspaper back in August. “She has millions of social media followers, which is a top focus of ITV at the moment.”
Among other celebrities tipped to brave the jungle are Coleen Rooney, McFly’s Danny Jones, ex-Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse, and Love Island alumna Maura Higgins.
As anticipation builds for the official confirmation of the line-up, ITV has announced a new interactive spin-off show titled I’m A Celebrity…Unpacked.
The ITV2 series will be presented by the current King of the Jungle, Sam Thompson, along with 2016 finalist Joel Dommett and radio presenter Kemi Rodgers. The trio is set to “dissect everything that is happening in camp” when the main programme returns to screens.
In a burst of enthusiasm, Sam expressed: “What a complete honour, I can’t believe I’m going to get to work on such an iconic show with Joel who I’m a big fan of and the fabulous Kemi, this is a dream come true.”
