Serial killer Levi Bellfield was introduced to his future wife by the Yorkshire Ripper, according to reports. Peter Sutcliffe was friends with the woman when Bellfield spotted her picture.
He reportedly asked if he could be put in touch after seeing her photo while cleaning cells. A source told the Sun : “What people don’t realise is that the woman was friends with Sutcliffe for years before he died, although there was no romance between them.”
It comes after Downing Street has said Boris Johnson is “sickened and appalled” by the disclosure that Levi Bellfield is seeking to get married in jail.

“Like the rest of the country, the Prime Minister is sickened and appalled by this, and his thoughts are with the families and loved ones of his victims,” the Prime Minister’s official spokesman said.
The spokesman said the application was made under the Human Rights Act (HRA), which the Government is seeking to replace with a British Bill of Rights.
He said that while the new legislation was designed to prevent “abuses” of the HRA, he could not be “definitive” on whether it will address the issues in this case.
“What we want to do with the Bill of Rights is introduce common sense and address inflations of rights which clearly fly in the face of that,” the spokesman said.
“Everyone, including the Prime Minister, is disgusted by the reporting we have seen today. I can’t, as it stands, be definitive on that particular position, but certainly the sorts of abuses we have of seen of the Human Rights Act are exactly what this is designed to address.”
