Lucy Fallon has returned to ITV Coronation Street as Bethany Platt – with a “brand new look”. The Coronation Street star is back on set filming her scenes as Bethany, the daughter of Sarah Barlow, played by Tina O’Brien, with the bombshell cobbles return due to air in the New Year.
Speaking in the clip, and dressed in character, she said: “Hello everyone it’s me, Bethany. It’s my first day back filming today. I am very excited, a little bit nervous, but I can’t wait for you all to see what Bethany is up to. Bye!” The caption of the clip read: “Look who’s back!
“Bethany returns with a whole new look. Watch out for her arrival on screen towards the end of the year,” with a popcorn emoji. Fallon’s return was previously leaked over the summer, when it was reported that her new scenes back in Weatherfield would probably air after Christmas.

Speaking at the Inside Soap Awards previously, Tina admitted to posting about her co-star’s return before it was officially announced. “I didn’t know [Lucy’s return] was still a secret and I put something on Instagram! I was like: ‘I wasn’t meant to do that, was I?’ The press office was like: ‘No, Tina, you were not meant to do that!'” the actress said.
“I’m so excited. She’s such a well-loved human, never mind character. Obviously the world love her as Bethany and so do we, but we also love her as Lucy and she is part of our little pretend family, so I can’t wait to have her back,” Tina went on. Asked what she knows about Bethany’s return plot, Tina replied: “Not a lot. She’s been working in London. She comes back with a purpose, but I don’t know anything, really, is the honest truth!
“But I’m sure, knowing that it’s Bethany, there will be a lot of drama.” Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
